Watch JDRF’s 2013 Children’s Congress Highlights!

Our JDRF Advocacy team is excited to share with you the 2013 Children’s Congress (CC13) Highlight Video. Not only can you watch the CC13 delegates in action during last summer’s main event, but also see their work in meetings up on Capitol Hill, a ‘Role Models in Diabetes’ town hall session, and ending with a hearing on type one diabetes in the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. During CC13, delegates and their families from all across the country visited Washington to share with Congress the important progress being made in type 1 diabetes research.

During their meetings, they also asked that their legislators sign-on to a ‘dear colleague’ letter circulated by leadership of the House and Senate Diabetes Caucuses, acknowledging the importance of renewing the Special Diabetes Program (SDP), fully funded, and for multiple years. The SDP provides critical type 1 research funding at $150 million per year to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Please visit our CC13 website for more information about JDRF’s biennial Children’s Congress. Learn more about the Special Diabetes Program on our JDRF Advocacy site—and lastly, always remember to share the video with a family member or friend who might be eligible to attend CC15!
