So I just found out I can no longer wear my medical alert because it has metal and metal makes me break out into rashes so I was woundering if anyone has any suggestions on metal free ones thanks so much !
I think I've seen fabric ones where the metal is covered on the underside by the woven fabric (closes with velcro I think). Sorry, not sure where I saw it.
Ugh -- that's annoying. I have very sensitive skin too, so I can feel for you.
Have you looked for those plastic "live strong" style ones? It's not the dressiest thing, but it's all plastic. If you do a search on here, there have been past threads with links to sites for bracelets b/c I can't remember which sites had which types at this moment...

try laurenshope.com. they have some fabric choices.
"You can't get to the top by sitting on your bottom."
"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."
fifty50.com has neoprene and suede bracelets. They're actually designed for kids, but there are some solid colors.
i got one from laurens hope that was made to wear when your playing sports. its a fabric band that attaches with velcro and has no metal.
Thanks for the help guys!
I get bracelets from here sometimes...there are leather, rubber, and rope ones: http://www.hopepaige.com/index.php
I have the same problem! I've used the following solutions:
Buy a medical alert charm. You can attach it to any jewelry, zipper pulls, etc. I wear beaded bracelettes a lot and I just put my charm on whatever I've picked out for the day. I got one from here: http://www.stickyj.com/medical-emergency-medical-id-charms.html
Use "sports strap" alerts. I got one faceplate and three different straps (one red nylon for working out, and two pleather ones for everyday wear). Here's what I got: http://www.stickyj.com/cr1530.html
Another tip, as someone who has long lived with a nickel allergy, invest in a bottle of clear nail polish! Sometimes you'll find otherwise perfect jewelry that just has a little metal, and you can periodically coat that metal with the polish to keep it from making contact with your skin. I even put it on the little metal bits on the inside of my bluejeans. (Now that it gives you rashes, you'll be amazed at how much metal you come in contact with every day!)

Coolmedid.com has livestrong type rubbery ones! I love them they come in a rainbow of colors! and only like $5
My 7 yo got 2 bracelets from here in 4/2010 and has distroyed them in no time. We engraved them on the side touching her skin and you can no longer read the inscription. And one of the tops fell off and has been lost. We got her the thin rubber style. Now looking to try medids.com

I obviously did the "reply" thing wrong, I was refering to the hope paige comment by ScrappyDy. Sorry for the lack of reference in my comment.
You could also go to RoadID.com and order one of those. They are designed for cyclists but you can have anything you want printed on them. the ID itself is metal but there are lots of options bracelets etc that the ID attaches to and it wouldn't tough your skin.
