Re: Newly diagnosed with blurry vision

My 13 yo son was diagnosed on Monday and his vision has been fine.  Now that his numbers are down (although up and down still), he developed blurry vision this morning.  Doc says this is relatively normal and should clear in time (no idea how long that is).  Does anyone else have any thoughts or experiences about this?

Someone else posted a similar story not long ago. My daughter's vision got better and went back to normal after being diagnosed but I think other people have gone the other way. A friend of mine with Type 2 diabetes thought he was Superman because he didn't need his glasses anymore. Once he was diagnosed he went back to needing his glasses.

A few weeks if numbers continue to stay below what they were pre-diagnosis.  Read these responses:

Thank you so very much Angie13!  It was so incredibly helpful to both of us to read that this was truly not an unusual occurrence, and even better to know it will get better soon!  Helps to breathe a little easier, at least in this regard.
