JDRF booth rocks!
Andy thinks Justin Bieber is actually good, and he has picture of a tricycle on his name tag. (Andy is actually typing this, and it's a moped, thank you very much, Christina and Molly!!)
This is my first year attending Friends For Life Children with Diabetes. I'm here with Team Type 1 Sanofi as a cyclist on the women's racing team. The experience is worth a million words and I can't quite explain how great it has been. I've meet SO many amazing people and inspirational children with diabetes. I hope I can come back next year representing the team again.
I love JDRF!!
This year is my first diabetes conference. I have really enjoyed this time meeting new people and learning about diabetes. JDRF is awesome and I love their representatives!!!!!
Go JDRF! We need an artificial pancreas!
CWD Kids are terrific! Great week of fun and friends. See you all next year!!!!!
Well, ... here it is. It's almost 4:00 and closing time for the exhibit hall here at CWD at the Orlando Marriott World Center. The JDRF booth has had many visitors. We've had kids, parents, volunteers, grandparents, first-timers and everything in between. The JDRF staff and volunteers handed out many resources and had many conversations..some of those conversations have been going for many years now since JDRF has been a part of this for quite some time. For me, some of the more memorable moments this year was getting to ROCK out (see picture) with Crystal Bowersox and also with fellow adults at the AT1 banquet. I also really enjoyed some of the down time I got spend at the pool and fitness area. The staff at CWD, the speakers at the sessions, and everyone involved this year was more than anyone could ask for. I'm very thankful to be a part of this all and to get to see and connect with so many. The Friends For Life tradition continues.
Sincerely,
Andy
Was there any discussion about how to reach out and connect to people who are over 18 and diagnosed later in life?
Last week, JDRF staff and volunteers had the opportunity to join the T1D community at another successful
I totally missed the boat on this one, but I was there for my second year in a row and it was fabulous! A wonderful experience where everything I do is "normal" and all my friends are just like me :D Can't wait to go again!
