Wow… you all are AA-MAAAA-ZING! Before checking out for the Columbus Day holiday last Friday, I had challenged you to help get the Artificial Pancreas (AP) petition to 20,000 supporters. I knew I should have asked for something higher because not only did you meet the petition challenge but as of right now, we are nearly 22,000 supporters strong! THANKS again, type 1 advocacy efforts only continue to succeed due to your passionate support of a cure and better management of diabetes.
As I have noted before, this is just the beginning of our efforts for the Artificial Pancreas Advocacy Campaign (APAC). The AP petition will continue into the month and we’ll have more challenges to meet! Later today, I’ll be on a call with a team of JDRF volunteers and staff working on the day-to-day happening of APAC to determine what our next goal should be. As soon as I know, I’ll update you all via the JDRF Advocacy Facebook and Twitter profiles.
In the meantime, be sure to share this blog with those that you asked to join the petition… just want to make sure the appreciation we have for your support is also acknowledged for others you reached out to as well! Also, for more background, read a blog post about the AP petition.
Stay tuned!
