Hot off the Press: Special Guests at Children’s Congress!

  • Comments 3

Pssssst… I have something to tell about the 2011 Children’s Congress. The rest of the JDRFers will know later this afternoon but since you’re following CC so closely, I figured we share it with you all first!

In a recent post I had promised that I would share with who our special guests will be for Children’s Congress later this month. So read on to find out who’ll be here!

You can also see them live at www.cc.jdrf.org/LIVE on June 20 during the Opening Dinner (5:30pm EDT) and on June 21 during the “Role Models with Type 1 Diabetes” Town Hall (10:30am EDT). Let us know what you think about CC so far and tweet us @JDRFAdvocacy on Twitter with the hashtag, #JDRFcc11 or leave us a comment below.

CC11 special guest will include recording artist Crystal Bowersox, who will be leading the delegates in a performance of the “Promise to Remember Me” song in front of Capitol Hill, as well as Olympic swimmer Gary Hall Jr., football player Kendall Simmons, professional golfer Carling Coffing, winner of last year’s Amazing Race Dr. Nat Strand, and ESPN’s Brian Kenny for the “Role Models with Type 1 Diabetes” Town Hall panel. (Check out the  full press release with more details here!)

In the coming days I’ll keep you updated on what’s going to happening at Children’s Congress, including details on the Senate hearing and a couple of more special guests! Be sure to tweet us @JDRFAdvocacy on Twitter with the hashtag, #JDRFcc11 and I’ll make sure we keep you in the loop on who else will join us.

  • Terrific lineup, Hasan  I know the CC kids will be inspired and empowered.

  • Our 9 year old son is a diabetes camp right now, but will be anxious to hear about it all when he returns.  He hopes to one day be going to Washington for cc.

  • Alooohaaaaa! We are so proud of all the Children’s Congress Delegates and want to express our sincere Mahalo Nui Loa for their dedication to be part of finding a cure thru their advocacy work for JDRF. We want you to know that is you the delegates who are the "Role Models with Type 1 Diabetes".
