25 days until World Diabetes Day and Type 1 Talk...2 more days of Google Moderator voting...36 community events posted on Facebook...And lots of questions from our JDRF Advocates!
To address those questions, we're bringing you an important video update to better explain what is involved for those of you who are thinking about hosting a Type 1 Talk event. We also wanted to notify you that the last day to participate in our Google Moderator voting for Type 1 Talk agenda topics ends this Friday. Take a moment to submit your topics and/or vote before the Friday deadline! So far we've had 95 topics submitted and almost 2,000 votes!
Please check out the video below, brought to you by JDRF's Advocacy Director, Mike Kondratick.
Thanks for taking a moment to watch our video. Please leave us your questions or comments about Type 1 Talk below or by emailing us at advocacy@jdrf.org.
Thanks Mike for the great update. Also, for those having events, when you are making sure you have what you need to show the live webcast, remember to also see what cables you need and if they are compatible with your laptop and projector. This applies to TV screens pairing with a laptop also. There are just few cables to pick from, but it is helpful to just check what you have before the big day! This is really getting exciting to see what topic will be picked!
I really hope that the Type 1 Talk Facebook application is working far better for others than it has been for me. I am finding it very frustrating to use. On two different computers, both using IE7, I have issues with getting redirected to the home page when I click on things like the "manage my event" button, the "Events" toolbar button, tand the profiles of those who have responded as "attending". I'm also not able to now search for other events, since I started one myself. I'd appreciate being able to reference what others are doing so that we have some consistency.
These issues don't happen every time - I'm sometimes able to get throough - but they happen most of the time. I have to believe it's a FB issue, or an issue with the way the app is written, not my computer - as I'm having this issue on more than one.
Thanks.
