Dealing with certain things can be really tough, especially for diabetics. We have to deal with food, injections, finger sticks, being made fun of or treated differently, and being babied or getting unwanted special treatment from family, teachers, and friends' parents. Not from friends because they know how you like to be treated and are always there for you. Dealing with food and carb counting is soooo annoying. But it has made me better in math(: Injections are something we have to deal with that not everyone does. Like when we had to get the shots to get into middle school, tetanus and meningitis, the girls were all complaining it hurt and the guys were acting all tough and cool. It's annoying when people complain because we have to go through it every day! The same goes for finger sticks, we have to do that everyday too! As for being made fun of, there's a whole post with multiple replies in the Teens group. Being babied by teachers or other adults really irks me. Like, they don't have to give you sugar free lollipops or ask if you can have the snack they are giving out every time. ughhhh.
Dealing with things non-diabetic related is hard too. Just last week, a kid in my school, and in my grade, passed away from a brain tumor. But the reason I made it through all of my grief was from my friends and, really everyone around me. I had known him and when they told us in school, i started crying but my friends were the ones who made me dry my tears and pull through it all. Dealing with people, or teachers, you don't like is also quite bothersome. I won't even get into that because I would have to replace their names with dashes or stars and I could really go on forever...
Anyway, tell me stories (pleaseee) about how you deal with things or have dealt with certain things before!! Thanksssss(:
