everything about all these comments are awesome!!! :))) i too have been there! its crazy that I've never, in my 15 years as a T1, talked about all this with other people. i feel like i have tried but they just 'don't get it'.

The best thing I learned from my insulin pump trainer was juice boxes. Easy to carry and easy to control. If I end up eating more after the juice box takes care of the low I know to bolus for it. It works so fast and even in a dead panic I've conditioned my brain to reach for my juice box. And as a bonus, my kids know not to touch my boxes, so they are always there:)

I think every diabetic has had this experience then when it doesn't start to come up 30-40 min after you eat a candy bar... I agree w/fast acting tabs vs food/juice

Haha that mango sorbet story..lol. It's hard to fight the urge when one of the symptoms of hypos is HUNGER. and its the rule of 15--15 fast-acting-carbs, wait 15 min, etc. and it's crazy when i'm digging through the cabinets after i've already had juice and/or smarties and I start grabbing for th cookies, pretzels, chips, or even my chocolate bunny from easter :). ahh, how it feels to be low. Something only diabetics know. :) (i didn't even try to make that rhyme!)

haha good to know I'm not the only one struggling with this. It gets especially bad when you start eating things that aren't yours..and you look up from the container of mango sorbet at its rightful owner, who is now frowning at your, turning around, and walking away..but those days are over! I hope..lol

After a lot of phone calls, e-mails, and faxes I ended up getting a few minutes between sections to test my sugar (which proved really important because I was pretty high!) So, yes I took the test! Never thought it would actually happen haha.
