APP – FDA Meeting

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are holding a public meeting on artificial pancreas technologies in a few weeks – on Nov. 10th.  This is an exciting opportunity for FDA to hear from the preeminent experts in the field and ask important questions about how clinical studies should be conducted, especially those outside of a hospital, and is a sign of the progress that is being made.  The meeting will include several panels of clinical experts discussing clinical expectations and success criteria for these studies.

As with all meetings convened by FDA, there will also be time at several points during the day for anyone attending to make a short statement.  So, in addition to the experts “on stage” those in the audience, including patients, researchers, or clinicians, can have their views heard.

If you are not able to come to the Hilton Washington DC North/Gaithersburg (620 Perry Pkwy, Gaithersburg, MD 20877) to be at the meeting in person, but are still interested in this event, you can watch it from the comfort of your own computer.  FDA will be offering a live webcast of the workshop.  For both in-person attendance and the webcast, you need to register by Nov. 3rd at 5pm.
