is this a donation and awareness site for canada as well? i think that i would like to consider contacting a group of t1d's and their families to do our own campaign that supports and benifits canadians with t1d directly as i dont believe this does.
Where in Canada are you located? I am in Canada as well and would be interested in this.
Scarborough ontario, but with a cell phone and the internet it doesn't mattr where we r ; )
Well u can. Use your pc and a digital camera with video and just upload it if you would like:) whatever you want to do is fine! And yes, everyone deserves to have a cure. However, realistically what portion of the funding, if any, will come to canadians from the bethevoiceofone campaign?
Just to keep you updated, I have contacted Gina, manager of JDRF, requesting information on how they seperate and allocate canadian donations, as well as the canadian charitable donation number that the funds are being allocated to.
Update: sorry I have no new information as of yet. I am still awating a response from Gina. As well, I am also in the process of determining if the donations made by canadians are tax deductable or not.
Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well over the past few days :) still waiting on a response from Gina and Revenue Canada on tax deductable donations but would like to get more jdrf canadian members to be part of this conversation on doing some awareness on our side of the border! So if you have friends on this site share this conversation and we can work together to gain more support! Together I am sure we can come up with some great ideas.
Please share with family as well!
So I have heard nothing on this from Gina, or the government regarding the tax issue... i guess they don't believe it is an issue... although I have noticed that I cannot donate as a canadian anymore
