  • hey everyone.

my name is Amzie. i am 25 yrs old, diagnosed at the age of 19 and have been on the pump for 1 year now. i currently live in St. Paul, MN, working as an artist and teaching assistant.  i haven't had much support from friends and family... maybe i shouldn't say that, they try, but they just don't get "it". i am hoping to find others who i can relate to here!

    happy new year.

  • Amzie,

Sorry I got to this post late. Been trying to get through a lot of content here! Sorry you don't have the support you need maybe you can try explaining diabetes to your family in a way they can understand it without getting yourself all flustered.

You definitely have a great support team here! Try joining the Adults group where you can find more people your age to talk with that may be going through the same things you are.

  • amzie,

This disease definitely comes with its moments and there are times where it's nice to have folks around who really get it... not sure I appreciated how nice that is until I saw this site.  Welcome to Juvenation, happy new year and I look forward to seeing you around the posts!

    Cheers!
