  • Hey guys,

I thought I would try joining this site and seeing how other people are managing/dealing with diabetes.  I am 25 years old and have had type 1 since the age of 2.  I was born in India and moved here when I was 9.  It was a bit more difficult to deal with diabetes in India because health coverage was not nearly as good as in the USA (its a lot better there now though).

I haven't had any real complications yet and I hope to keep it that way.  MY last A1C was around 7.5 so I am trying to bring that down.  I'm currently on Novalog and Lantus - the pump just doesn't suit me for some reason.  I'm trying to eat healthier now and try to work out at least 3 times a week including running.  I just ran my first 8k a few weeks ago (shamrock shuffle in Chicago!).  I also am in the way of becoming an amateur level race car driver in NASA!

Sorry if I bored you guys with my life story!

  • A cool diabetic doing cool things... how could that be boring?  We're glad you're here.

    T1 since 1977        Minimed pump since 2002
