Dexcom CGM: Do the pros outweigh the cons?
Stephen England
I have been 'pumping' for over a year now and am still very much hesitant to get a CGM. Please comment on your favorite pro and con of the device.

New CGM

I just got my CGM a few weeks ago, and I've decided its more of a frienemy than anything else. I loved my pump when I switched to it, and was hoping I would love the CGM just as much. I think part of my problem is a quest for perfection, which I believe is nearly impossible with this crazy disease...

Love/Hate Relationship with CGM

My CGM often hurts when I insert it, since the minimed needle is freakin gigantic and the insertion is pretty rickety in comparison to inserting my infusion set. I know that we're waiting for the technology to improve, so I deal. I also have soreness on the third day where I almost count down to...

Bleeding when I put the Cgm in!!!
Jenni
I am going to keep this short but I need help! I have gone through about 8 of the needles for Medtronic that you put in to set up the Cgm and I do it by the book every time, I have started to try going softer and hardly touching the inserter to my skin too but then almost none of the needle goes in....

CGM for sale
Heidi
I have a medtronic / minimed CGM I need to get rid of. I used it for about a month and it just wasn't for me. If anyone is interested in buying it please let me know. I had to pay quite a bit out of pocket for it. Any reasonable offer will be considered.

Guardian® REAL-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring System with REVEL pump

I have had my CGM with minimed for about a month now and *I love it*!!!! My blood sugar control has gotten better and better each day that I monitor my graphs and I have learned which foods do what to my blood sugar and have since eliminated certain things that end up spiking me up and keeping my bg...

Re: How long are CGM warranties?
Tom Snead
CC, Six months after being put on the pump (from Medtronic) I was put on a CGM from them. At that time the pump waranty was 4 years (ended in August 2010) and the CGM waranty was 90 days. I still use the same pump and CGM and they both work fine. The CGM has to be re-charged with a AAA battery every...

Re: Can I get some info

Hi Dan, I use the Dexcom SEVEN Plus ( http://www.dexcom.com/ ) and really like it. I've tried a Minimed CGM and found it too bulky for my needs. There is a sensor that you wear (much like an insulin pump site) with a very small wire that stays under your skin. The wire takes glucose readings from...

CGM Resource Website
Kim
Hey all, I just found out about a website Dexcom put together "for CGM insight, education, and tools". It looks like there will also soon be a community function, so we can share stories there, too. (Though, I'm not sure I want Dexcom knowing where I put my sensors, etc.... ha.) Thought...

Need honest advice
Michele
I've had two different Minimed pumps in the last 15 years. I despise the company and want nothing to do with them. However, because I have a total lack of awareness when my sugars drop and most of the paramedics know me on a first name basis (yes, in THREE different areas... home, work, and general...

Re: pain after insertion
ginny
Thanks for the advice! I tried squeezing fat I guess to maximize depth? before inserting it and it seemed to help a lot. The only problem with that is if I am not careful the adhesive seems to pull my skin a little, but not nearly as uncomfortable as before. I am going to try the other ideas too. My...
