“Teens taking on type 1 diabetes”

JDRF’s latest video, “Teens taking on type 1 diabetes,” is here! The video features actress Mary Mouser and four incredible teens who talk about their lives with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The video will be included in the JDRF Bag of Hope that’s given at no charge to newly diagnosed families, but we wanted to share it with everyone on TypeOneNation. Hear from Jessica Kroner, one of the amazing teens in the video.

My name is Jessica Kroner and I am 19 years old, currently attending Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. I had the pleasure of being a part of this film and am so excited that it is debuting. I think that this is video is something all teens with T1D and their parents should see because it gives great insight into our typical, daily life. My fellow teens and I cover a wide range of ages and different experiences. As a result, we talk about everything from intimate topics, such as dating relationships, to everyday obstacles we face living with T1D, like driving. I wish there was something like this when I was diagnosed over thirteen years ago, in order to let my family and I know that we were not alone and I could and would lead a normal life. I hope you all find this informative and a breath of hope for the future. All four of us have been thriving with T1D and you can too!
