JDRF 2015 New Member Outreach Initiative

JDRF Advocacy was proud to launch our 2015 New Member Outreach Initiative (NMOI) when the 114th Congress was seated on January 9th. NMOI is our biennial campaign connecting JDRF Advocates with each newly-seated Member of Congress.

This year, our Advocates will engage with 67 new legislators in their home states and Congressional Districts to talk about JDRF, life with type 1 diabetes (T1D), and the ways they can help advance T1D research. Now more than one month later, NMOI is definitely rolling along with more than 20 meetings with new Members already held, or on the scheduling books!

Each NMOI meeting is critical to bringing new U.S. Senators and Representatives up to speed on the importance of JDRFā€™s legislative priorities, including renewal of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) and passage of the ā€˜Medicare CGM Access Act.ā€™

To attend a NMOI meeting in your local area and to become a JDRF Advocate, sign-up here! Ā Follow along on the official NMOI website (http://nmoi.jdrf.org) to see current and past meeting photos and summaries with Senators and Representatives from all across the country!

Weā€™ll also keep you updated on Facebook and Twitter. Help us build momentum for NMOI in your meeting by snapping a photo with your new Member of Congress and posting it to social media with #JDRFNewMember.

If you have any questions about NMOI, please contact Advocacy staff at newmember@jdrf.org.
