Meet the Newbie: Amanda McKinney

Join me in welcoming Amanda, the newest member to join JDRF Advocacy
and our blog! Amanda started with the JDRF Capitol Chapter a year ago, a few
months after she graduated college. Amanda is a born and raised
Washingtonian. Over the past year, she
has worked on the chapter’s events, as well as managing their social media
efforts. As a self-expressed “Social Media Nerd” we are glad to have her on our
team!

I met Amanda shortly after she came to the chapter and I
remember she mentioned that she had a few connections to type 1 through family
friends. But fast forward a year and ask her now and she explains that she has
developed more connections than she can count. Finding a cure to T1D is not
only a dream Amanda has, but it is a dream she is a committed part of.

Amanda’s role on our team will consist of managing the data
we get from our advocates, which enables us to communicate with you as effectively
as possible. She will be updating our social media sites, including Juvenation
with our latest programs and reaching out to you when we need your help in
Washington. As a passionate person, I
know Amanda looks forward to getting to know you and your stories. When advocacy
volunteers have questions, I encourage you to reach out to Amanda. She will be helping to answer questions on
JDRF Advocacy’s Facebook fan page,
email account and Twitter account, so be sure to let
her know if we can help you in anyway.
