Did We Match September’s Promise Numbers in October?

In the beginning of October, I put a out a challenge to advocates across the country to schedule the same number of Promise meetings during the month as were scheduled in September. That meant at least 47 meetings would need to be scheduled. I am proud to say that thanks to your hard work, we not only matched that number, but beat it! Campaign coordinators scheduled or held 50 meetings in October, which is 27 more than we scheduled in the same period during the 2009-10 Campaign. Our total at the end of the month was 216 meetings, which is 50% of our total goal of 432!

If we continue to on this pace for the rest of the Campaign, we will not only reach our goal of 250 meetings by the end of December, but we will surpass it by far. As I said in yesterday’s post, November brings us even greater opportunity to schedule meetings as it is Diabetes Awareness Month. Let’s use this to our advantage and schedule 40 meetings this month! There are two House recesses coming up, and these are the best opportunities for getting these meetings scheduled. Members of Congress will be home for an entire week during those times, so we need to make sure we use them to our best abilities!

We currently have 218 meetings scheduled or held, meaning our November count is at 2. We need you to help us get the remaining 38! If you have not already, help us keep the momentum going for the remainder of the year by signing up to attend a Promise meeting. You even have the option to note your interest in coordinating a meeting with one or more of your legislators! You can also email me at advocacy@jdrf.org if you wish to coordinate or have any questions.
