May Blog Highlights

As JDRF’s Children’s Congress is fast approaching, I wanted
to make sure you didn’t miss out on any of our exciting activities from last
month. Find out what we’ve been up to at JDRF Advocacy below:

  • There
is now even more reason to get involved with Type 1 Talk! Through the end
of June, we are running a promotion for the ‘No Sugar Added’ poetry book –
you can get 50% off an order of three or more! You can even win a trip to
    Washington, D.C.?
Find out more about the contest here.

Want to participate in Type 1 Talk but are having trouble getting started?

  • Children’s
Congress is coming up in just a few short weeks, and you can be a part of
    it
even if you aren’t a delegate! Find out how you can support the
    Children’s Congress experience here.

Last month, delegate families were hard at work recruiting advocates in
the month-long Friendraiser campaign. Find out how many advocates the
families recruited here – it is an astounding number!

Hasan has also been profiling the Children’s Congress delegates on the
blog every day. Click here to check out the delegates from your state!

  • Thank
you to those who participated in our 2011 Advocate Survey last month. This
survey is extremely important because it helps use continue to provide you
with a rewarding advocate experience. We will have results of the survey
later this month, but you can check out the mobile survey results here.

  • In the
beginning of May, we wrapped up the Senate letter to FDA Commissioner Hamburg
about the artificial pancreas. Thank you to those of you that participated
in the action alert! Find out how many Senators signed onto the letter
    here.
